William Broad

William started shooting at Epsom College in 2006 and three years later found himself on his first tour, to the Channel Isles, with the UKCRT. Since then, William has captained the Athelings in Canada in 2011 and has also shot with the GBU19s in South Africa in 2012. In 2011 he first represented the GBU25 team and was delighted to be selected to represent England in the National Match in 2012.

Of his most notable achievements, William has won the Olle Becket Memorial Trophy, the Bisley 500 yards aggregate and has finished on the Grand Aggregate leaderboard twice. On his last tour to Canada he won the Cadet Grand Aggregate and added to his previous successes abroad by finishing second in a tie shoot for the Jack Mitchley in South Africa. He was also extremely proud to be the Ashburton Shield winning captain in 2011.

William is glad to be returning to shoot in the DCRA meeting and is particularly proud to have been selected for his first cap for Great Britain. Besides shooting, William studies Geography and Economics at Durham University where he shoots for the University and is a committed member of St. Chad’s College Boat Club and also keeps the College Wine Cellar.
